Innovative MSK labelling and shrink wrapping system
Press Release, 2010-09-13
A new system, which has been developed by MSK for complete tracking information for pallets from the palletizer onward, distinguishes itself by the low material costs, compared to other common solutions. It has already been sold several times by MSK - the interest is high.
Labelling from the palletizer onward
To completely prove the quality of glass bottles on a pallet, the pallet has to be labelled from the palletizing process onward. For this, the new labelling-system from MSK offers a fully automated solution that can be adapted to the glass palletizer. “There are not many solutions on the market so far, that are suitable for pallets with plastic trays as well. The system, that has been developed by MSK, has already been sold several times and offers low material consumption costs due to the use of standard copy paper to label, as well as the good readability at the side of the pallet”, illustrates Uwe Jonkmanns, Sales and Marketing Director at MSK. “It can be retrofit to existing palletising systems without problems”.
For universally use
The new MSK labeller processes pallets with varying sizes and heights and makes a reading check immediately after applying the label by scanning the barcode. „What is so special about our new system is, that the label can also be applied to pallets with plastic trays in a way, that the label is readable at the side”, explains Uwe Jonkmanns. The new labelling-system is solidly built and requires only a small space. It can process pre-printed labels as well as creating labels itself by printing the information needed.
Integrated software
„More and more, a high degree of automation is the basis for production efficiency and what is becoming increasingly important is the exchange of information between various system controls. With the visualisation software MSK EMSY - integrated in such an information structure - the complete Cold End can be controlled and monitored”, says Uwe Jonkmanns. Information from various peripheral devices, such as labellers or barcode scanners is retrieved and edited by EMSY and can be forwarded to MES or ERP systems. Conversely, information can be dispatched by EMSY to peripheral devices. As the development of the software have occurred 100 % in-house, MSK can tailor the system to individual needs.
New solutions for shrink wrapping and internal logistics
In the field of shrink wrapping, MSK has developed a new machine as well. The new shrink hood wrapping machine MSK Multitech 2010 offers high capacity with up to 170 pallets per hour and is also available as a compact version with small footprint. Due to the contact-free film hooding, glass pallets with border-free packaging can securely been shrink wrapped.
The machine offers high flexibility also for future pallet sizes by processing various dimensions with up to four different film formats or thicknesses. “We succeeded in developing the new shrink hood machine MSK Multitech 2010 as a very operator-friendly system. The machine head can be lowered to ground level, so that maintenance work can be done without platform or ladders. In combination with simple plug-in connections, spare parts such as the welding strip can be exchanged easier and faster. In addition, the use of tooth belts instead of chains make the machine very maintenance-friendly”, Uwe Jonkmanns points out.
Furthermore, MSK offers news in the area of internal logistics: MSK shuttle cars can now be fitted with inductive drive technology.
From the lehrs to the warehouse – the complete Cold End from one single source
MSK is co-founder of the Container Glass Alliance. The Container Glass Alliance provides the know-how for the main machines and processes of a glass plant and is formed by four leading suppliers in their fields: Zippe, Horn, Emhart and MSK. MSK offers the complete Cold End of a glass production, from the lehrs to the end-of-line packaging, all from one single source. More than 30 years of experience in the development of glass palletizers, shrink hooding machines for the transport security, shuttle cars and conveyor technology, as well as required control software have brought MSK a leading position in the market. With international subsidiaries and many representations MSK is located close to its customers. 24 hours emergency and online service provides fast and economic help as well.
