For the third time, MSK Verpackungs-Systeme GmbH in Kleve hosted a concert in one of its production halls to benefit young musical talents. The event on November 9 was filled to capacity.
After Linda Hannen and Uwe Jonkmanns from the MSK executive board welcomed the visitors, the concert program was opened by pianist Clara Strobel with Frédéric Chopin's Ballade No. 3 Op. 47 in A-flat major. She then joined violinist Elena Meyer in a duo performance of three movements from Edvard Grieg's Sonata in C minor, Op. 45. In the second part of the concert, young musicians Jonah van de Loo, Anton Schmeling, and Tom Schönfeldt from the Kleve district music schools showcased their special talents on the clarinet, horn, and trumpet, accompanied by pianist Anja Speh. The wind players and percussionists of the KMS Symphony Orchestra provided the grand finale with pieces by Tielman Susato and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov under the baton of Thomas Löffler.
There was also plenty to see backstage during this special concert. High-performance machines such as a palletizing system for the glass industry and an automated pallet unpacking system created an impressively illuminated industrial atmosphere in the concert hall. This year, visitors also had the opportunity to see MSK machines in action after the concert during a guided tour. MSK is a market leader in machine equipment for the entire Cold End of a glassworks.
All donations collected at this charity concert will go entirely to the International Music Summer Campus Cleve and the music schools in the district of Kleve, which have put together a varied program under the artistic direction of Prof. Boguslaw Jan Strobel and district music school director Anne Giepner. The new mayor of Kleve, Markus Dahmen, was also welcomed as a special guest among the visitors.
