Tailored Engineering Project in the Building Material Industry

 

At an American customer specialized in the supply of refractories products and services, a second MSK tailor-made complete system has been installed from the cooling area to the warehouse. Keep on reading to discover which equipment it includes.

A Business Relationship Based on Trust

The business relationship between this customer and MSK started five years ago when MSK Covertech Inc based in Acworth (GA), helped the company automatizing their plant in Michigan. Thanks to tailor-made engineering, a complete automatic system has been built for the plant, going beyond the primary request of providing a packaging system. Satisfied with the results of this project, this customer directly contacted MSK Covertech Inc. for their new plant in Alabama.

Pallet Conveying from the Cooling Area

The plant in Alabama is manufacturing magnesia-carbon bricks. MSK complete automation system is starting from the cooling area with roller conveyors leading the pallets in the cooling tunnel automatically.  

Pallets are then transferred to the packaging line thanks to an MSK shuttle car. This avoids the traffic of forklift trucks all along, reinforcing safety at work in addition to reducing operational costs.
The installation also includes rotative conveying module allowing pallets to be automatically guided along the line without the need for manual operating.

Automatic Packaging Line for Optimum Protection 

After being strapped, pallets are labelled to ensure efficient pallet tracking thanks to MSK automatic labeler. A barcode scanner verifies that your pallet is recorded for your line control. Moreover, paper label can be applied for pallets with tier sheets or trays.
Next step is the shrink hooding of the pallet thanks to MSK Multitech shrink hooder. Up to 140 pallets per hour can be hooded with the MSK Multitech. MSK shrink packaging technology protects efficiently your loads on five sides against dirt, humidity or theft. Your loads are well-secured, which reduces product damage during transport as well. Moreover, precise film heating avoids thermal overload and retains the film elasticity and long-term strength. 
MSK shrink hooding is both a sustainable and economic solution since it uses only one layer application unlike stretch-wrapping. By doing so your brand as well as barcodes are also clearly visible. 

Complete Automation until Pallets are Ready for Storage

After pallet packaging, MSK installation does not stop here. MSK engineers adapted the complete installation to the customer facility. Therefore, pallets are then automatically transported to another floor thanks to MSK elevator, where they are ready to be stocked or truck loaded.
